MALFROY motor lodge is named after the renowned French engineer, Jean-Michel Camille Malfroy, who was employed as Rotorua’s Resident Engineer in the middle late 1800’s, and was also Chairman of the Rotorua Town Board.  Jean-Michel represented the colony at the Paris Exhibition in 1889, and was made a Chevalier de la Legion d'Honneur for his innovative geo-thermal works in and around Rotorua.  

Sustainability
MALFROY motor lodge is eco-conscious, and working to reduce our carbon footprint.  in addition to our geothermal re-injection bore providing all of our central heating and hot water, we have a number of sustainability initiatives in place.  See Sustainability page for more information. 

Apartments
Our thermally heated Apartments are serviced daily, fully self contained, comfortably furnished, and have a flat screen television with 15 channels, including 6 SKY Digital (satellite) channels, and each has a DVD player.

Kitchens
Our large Family Suite comes with a modern kitchen with oven, microwave and full size fridge / freezer.  Our two-bedroom Apartments also come with full kitchen facilities, including oven, a small fridge with freezer compartment, and a microwave.  Our studio Apartments also have kitchens, and come with a double hot plate, a microwave oven, and an under counter fridge with freezer compartment. 

Tea & Coffee
Complimentary tea, coffee and milk are provided in all Apartments.  Plunger coffee is also available on request, at a nominal cost.

Breakfasts
A selection of continental and cooked breakfasts are available by arrangement the evening before.

Internet Service
We provide a free broadband WiFi (wireless) service for our guests, which is generally available in all Apartments

Heating
All Apartments have thermally heated radiators for central heating, as the motel is equipped with its own geothermal re-injection bore.

Pets
We are a pet free property.

Sports Equipment
We offer free secure storage for sports equipment, including mountain bikes and kayaks.

Pools
Both pools are free and available 24 hours a day, and we ask you to read the notes in the compendium to be found in your unit.

Smoking Policy
For the health and enjoyment of others please note that all of our Apartments are smokefree.  Smoking is only allowed in the grounds, but please show consideration for others and use the ashtrays provided.

Laundry
There is a launderette nearby, or an onsite service can be provided in the late afternoon - once MALFROY's own laundry has been completed.
